I make a rough draft of my schedule in Google Drive each Friday afternoon for the following week. At the end of each day I firm up the next days schedule to ensure I maximize my schedule around instructional leadership.

Yes, at Rosewood Middle School teachers know that data is the driving focus of what we do next. We are a school with small numbers with high growth so it is very important that we put names on paper and we intentionally focus on those students as well continuing to ensure that the students that we have proficient stay at that level. In all PLC meetings when we discuss testing data, my question to them is "Now what?"

Each PLC meeting, we analyze the common assessments that are taken in each content area class. We look to see which standards students have more difficulty in and we assign IXL (Reading/Math) and Delta Math practice problems for those students and provide support/feedback to their work.

I make a daily to do list / plan in order to structure my day and plan intentionally for the rooms I need to visit, the fires I need to put out, and the teachers, staff members, faculty members I need to talk to for a particular issue. Yes, I met with my staff on a weekly basis, the staff is definitely empowered to carry on the high standards previously set. The staff has informed me on many things. I continue to support them on their initiatives and I also provide them with goals to achieve such as our CCR proficiency. I have several new teachers this year and I have been speaking with them on acquiring leadership roles within the school.

In order to achieve this, we have been more strategic about our SI meetings. By sending out the agendas a week in advance, members have time to better prepare and therefore have more input so that decisions aren't just coming from leadership. This allows more "thinking time" as well as collaboration time with their teams so that conversations are more robust.

I plan and implement a weekly calendar of events and tasks. Most events are concrete however, tasks are sometimes delayed due to unexpected interruptions. Prioritizing is a must!

This is definitely an area of improvement for me. When I have a plan of action or attack each day, I need to ensure that stays my focus, especially when it is getting into classrooms. Even though I have told my office staff that classroom time is protected, I will still come out to talk with parents or teachers. I need to hold myself more accountable with this.

Team decisions are a vital part of decision making. My SIT team helps make as many school-wide decisions as possible. I also seek the input of teachers. I feel like my participation in PLCs also empowers my staff to share and for me to help them drive instruction.

We spend time during PLC's discussing district summative data; however, we also spend time discussing classroom formative assessments, behavior data and attendance data. Right now we are collecting data on tardy's, signouts and number of students being dropped off between 7:30-8:15am.

Yes, coming into my new assignment I analyzed the data from previous years. When meeting with my staff this year in the beginning, I used this data to guide my goals for the year. As we meet weekly, we continue to refer back to our data to remind us as to what goals we are shooting for.

I meet with grade level PLCs each Thursday to engage in discussions about high yield instructional strategies. Another portion of the PLC meeting focuses data analysis. We also spend time highlighting implementation examples that have been seen while conducting walk throughs and observations. I also use this time to introduce district initiatives and the latest things I have learned in my PD meetings. AM

Absolutely! There are many data points that we use to determine the areas of focus for our school. With this data we are able to determine the particular needs of each student. We use the previous year's testing data, EVAAS data, STAR data, Check-Ins, CFA's, and teacher made test. We are strategic with the way we utilize our tutors. We utilize district and purchased resources to assist us with our efforts.
