         <title>Classroom Management During Science Instruction </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>02/19/19<br>Observed Science Lesson<br>-- Direct instruction while students completed Science Journal.<br>-- Attention grabbers used during transition:<br>       * T: "Scooby dooby do"<br>         C: "Where are you?"<br>       * T: "Classity class class"<br>         C: "Yessity yes yes?"<br>       * T: "Shark bait"<br>         C: "Hoo ha ha"<br>-- Students were probed questions to make them think critically about the concept before they began taking notes on it. <br>-- Students were able to chose any seat around the class where they felt comfortable taking notes. (i.e. floor, desk, beanbag, stool). <br>-- Students were very interactive and engaged. <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>02/26/19 &amp; 02/28/19<br>Conducted a science lab with small groups<br>-- demonstrated igneous, sedimentary, &amp; metamorphic rocks with an air head experiment.<br>-- worked with group of 6-10 students.<br>-- explained instructions then asked open ended questions to get students thinking about what we were demonstrating.<br>-- Made connections between the experiment and rock cycle. <br>-- Students LOVED this experiment and were able to reference it to remember how the different rocks formed. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>03/12/19<br>Observed Teacher Instruction<br>-- During their math lesson the students word problems were related to science.<br>--They were able to make a connection between science and math.<br>-- During students down time (after they finished an assignment), they had to read an article and answer questions about it. The article was science related.<br>--Students had to read the science text and process it. This linked both reading comprehension and science.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Feb--March<br>-- With this fourth grade class, the teacher had a less structured classroom. <br>-- I learned that giving students independence allows them to take ownership/ responsibility of their own learning.<br>-- I learned that flexible seating works for some students and not others.<br>-- My practicum teacher talked a lot about students who were in RTI or on IEPS and the procedures that come with that and how to identify/document a possible learning disability.<br>-- I think I did really well conducting the small group experiment.<br>-- </div>]]></description>
