I’ve read almost all her books and my favorite is Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, Welcome to the World, Baby Girl! (yes, my padlet named after this book, it's obvious) and A Redbird Christmas.

   A redb. chr. was published in 2004. The plot of this book is simple enough. Oswald T. Campbell, a down-and-out oldman in a Chicago winter, is given only a few months to live unless he moves South. He finds himself in the small town of Lost River where the weather is fine and the residents are friendly. One of them, Roy, keeps a red cardinal, a once wounded bird called Jack. Patsy, a sad little kid with a crippled leg, from the trailer park up in the woods, falls in love with Jack. 

   I adore Fannie Flagg’s books because she creates a real world with real people but full of different miracles. It warms my heart. I’d love so much to live there with my family.
