Since I was a child, I didn't like English very much, so my English scores were always not good. In order to study in the UK, I trained in the ielts institute for two months. Fortunately, I only took the exam once before I reached the requirements of the school.

When I came to London, I found that my poor English knowledge could not support my study and daily life, so I began to be afraid of communicating with others, and I would avoid any occasions when using English. After a few weeks , I realized that running away wasn't going to solve the problem, and my language skills weren't improving at all, so I began to reflect on myself. I tried to communicate with others in English, and answered more questions in class. In daily life, when I had problems that needed to be solved, I didn't ask for help from friends, but tried to find related personnel by myself. Gradually my life began better, which enabled me to concentrate more on my study.

In daily study, I still stick to the habit of learning ielts before, and remember 30 words every day.I insisted on this habit for half a year, although the number of words is not much, but I think it is helpful to my study. Through this period of preparatory study, I think the most helpful is the reading skills taught by the teacher. Therefore, I will not translate the current materials online as soon as I get the words I don't know. I will read the articles with my own understanding. This greatly improved my reading speed and helped me remember the meaning of words better. As for listening, I don't think I have a problem with daily conversation, but if I need a phone call, the other person is talking too fast and too quietly,I still can't fully understand the meaning of the others. And I also don't think I have made much progress in spoken English. Sometimes I still can't express my real ideas.I think this is because I am too shy to speak, so I miss a lot of opportunities to practice. Therefore, I will communicate with more people in the future to make myself more outgoing.

In the second half of the study, I still want to adhere to the habit of memorizing words, When reading, I will write down the words that I don't know. In leisure time, I plan to go to the bookstore to read original English novels, which should be great help to my reading.I love watching TV series very much, so I will take time to watch more British TV series in the future to practice my listening and pronunciation. I found that it really improved my English a lot. For example, after watching a lot of TV series, I could react to some linked words more quickly. Watching a lot of TV shows has really made my pronunciation more idiomatic. After all, sometimes I still think that English with a heavy accent will be misunderstood by others. As for the speaking ,when I at home, I often communicate with my roommates in English and practice with each other. I need more communication with others, to overcome my fear.Writing has always been my weakness. I think my roommate really helped me a lot with that. In fact, it is mainly about words. I will practice more. I’ll Try to use the words I usually remember to write, so that I can learn them.

After the language class and two months of preparatory study, I still make great progress.A good language environment is of great help to language learning. Therefore, I hope that through this year's study, I can communicate with others in English more confidently and use less translation tools. Not only in terms of my study, I also hope that I can make some foreign friends, so that I won't regret my life of studying abroad.

With the increasingly heavy learning tasks, more and more problems are reflected in my study. In my professional courses, because I usually follow up the courses after class, and I will do the exercises after class. the problem of not understanding the courses before has been improved. The new problem is that we have added programming courses. Due to my unfamiliarity with many professional terms and computers, I have to study very hard. I didn't understand the exercise in class at all, but I had to understand it and bring it into the paper I was about to submit. The problem in English class is still reading vocabulary and complex grammar. For the thesis, I think I still need to strengthen the professional replacement of grammar and text. In order to study in the future, I think I need to work harder to cope with the challenges in the future.
