Notes Expansion Essay
A celebration you enjoy

A celebration I've enjoyed was Hari Raya Aidlifitri. Every year, my family and I always celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri in the village which is situated in Johor. We always arrive a day early before the arrival of the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I will be thrilled every time I wait for the arrival of that day because of this occasion our family will gather with other family members to celebrate this festival together. It was such a blast!

On the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, I woke up early awakened by my mother. After I finished a bath and performed the dawn prayers, I was getting ready to wear my new baju kurung that I recently bought. After a while, I will help my grandmother and my aunts to prepare variety of foods for the special day.

At about noon, my family members from all over the places will gathered at my grandparent’s house celebrating Hari Raya together. I am very happy at that time to meet all of my cousins, play and chat with them. We ate together, talk together and laugh together. It was so much fun!

When night comes, we are letting off firecrackers and fireworks. We all slept late that night, chatting with each other.

In conclusion, I love to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with my family with the other family members. It was just unforgettable memory for me!

I'm sure we all have different celebrations that we enjoy in our lives. A celebration I enjoy is Hari Raya.

Hari Raya is celebrated by Muslims after a month of fasting every year. I would celebrate Hari Raya with my grandparents. Usually, a day before the first of Syawal, which is when Hari Raya is celebrated, we would arrive at my grandparents' house and help prepare a variety of foods for the special day.

On the morning of Hari Raya, everyone wore beautiful and colorful traditional clothes, more known as Baju Kurung and Baju Melayu. Moreover, my father would go to the mosque and pray. As for the rest of my family, we would eat delicious Rendangs, 'Ketupats', and more. Later in the afternoon, I sat in front of my parents and beg for forgiveness. Then, family relatives from different states came over to visit with smiles on their faces. Just before sunset, we would say our goodbyes to them and take photos together.

As the night grew darker and the moon grew brighter, we decided to play fireworks. The fireworks were beautiful as we gazed into the cold night. I saw other families playing fireworks too. I smiled as I felt joyful during this celebration.

Eid Ul Adha is a Muslim festival that basically marks the end of Hajj or Pilgrimage to Makkah. This Eid is also known as the Eid of sacrifice, and it basically commemorates the faith of Abraham and devotion to Allah.

According to the Belief of the Muslims, Allah asked Nabi Abrahim to sacrifice his son for Allah’s sake, and even though he was a good man and loved his son very much, his devotion and faith to God was so strong that he did not hesitate to take this bold step and agreed to sacrifice his son . The willingness of Nabi Abrahim to sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah caused Allah to spare his son’s life, and therefore a lamb was sacrificed in his place.

This was a miracle of Allah and it proved that he has command over all things and the known and the unknown. It is because of this holy incident in the History of Islam that the Muslims now celebrate Eid ul Adha every year to earn Allah’s blessings and forgiveness.
