Remi has many daily stressors that are affecting her mental health. Between balancing law school, work, her mother's condition and maintaining a social life she is finding it difficult to manage her stress. She feels pressured to do well in school while also finding the time to take care of her mother while also still maintaining her social life. She is now experiencing emotional responses to her stress with signs of anxiety and depression. Remi was once a very motivated student but is beginning to burnout due to her work overload and the lack of control she now feels.
(Bergin & Pakenham, 2015 a; Weiten, Dunn & Hammer, 2018).

Remi tries to indulge herself in her school work as a way for her to cope and avoid her daily stressors. However, since she is constantly helping her mother it is hard to specifically focus on her school work. Engaging in time consuming activities does help Remi not focus on all the negatives situations that are occurring with her mother. Remi falls under the problem and emotion focused constructive coping. She exercises and meditates to help release any emotions that she is dealing with. Remi also uses systematic problem solving to find the source of her current problem and takes action to make it better.
(Weiten, Dunn, & Hammer, 2018).

In Remi's current stage of life a relationship is to involved for her and she prefers to focus on her career and studies. When taking on a relationship both partners need to provide their undivided attention 80% of the time to the other spouse. For Remi, that it to much time and attention to devote to someone in her current situation with her mom. Psychologist believe that when comparing single people to people in on going relationships, single people tend to be more carefree and less stressful whilst people in a relationship tend to feel as if they carry more of a responsibility and take on more stress. Even though it is becoming more popular in current times to marry late in life it does not shield Remi from societal pressure to settle down with someone. She is constantly asked by family and friends about who she is dating and when will she will get married.
(Weiten, Dunn & Hammer, 2018).

Remi's sexual orientation is Heterosexual. She discovered this as a young child when she began to form crushes on boys. She has not gone very far sexually as she has only kissed previous boyfriends. She has had many psychosocial influences on her sexuality as her family is very religious and she took an abstinence pledge in high school. She believes sex should be saved for marriage despite facing pressure from the media and friends. Her sexual depression has been heightened due to the fact that she cannot relate to her friends. Remi had limited knowledge in sex growing up and when she went to college her friends had to teach her about the different contraceptive methods and sexually transmitted diseases. She wants to continue to focus on law school and her future career before indulging in a serious relationship and sexual activity.
(Weiten, Dunn & Hammer, 2018).

Remi witnessed through her parents complementarian like gender roles, where her Mom and Dad had different roles in the household, but they saw each other as equally important and never forced any stereotypical gender roles on the other person. Remi has tried to model this in past relationships and plans to model this in any future relationship. Remi became more aware of gender differences in grade school. She noticed the girls and boys participated in different activities, wore different clothes, and used separate facilities. She also noticed that more men were in accelerated courses in high school, motivating her to perform at the same level as them.
Remi has ran into a few instances of sexual harassment by male colleagues, and is the recipient of many sexist jokes, but reported the incidents to human resources and has seen a decrease in this behavior.
(Weiten, Dunn & Hammer, 2018).

Remi has been going through a tough time lately but has remained positive through her traits of hope and resilience.

Sadly, Remi's mother passed away from her battle with cancer 6 months after her diagnosis. This affected Remi tremendously and sent her into a state of depression. Remi even considered dropping out of school. However, her father convinced her to stay with her education. Remi then graduated from Florida State of Law at the top of her class. She is now a junior partner at a Florida Law Firm. Remi is currently dating another junior partner at her law firm and according to her, they are taking things slow.

Remi's whole well being was affected by her mother's cancer diagnoses. It became a source of stress that affected her mental and physical health and her self-esteem. But through the community that her friendships have brought, the use of positive psychology, and counseling she received the tools she needed to become resilient in her situation. Throughout Remi’s journey she did her best to avoid romantic relationships and focus her undivided attention on primarily her studies, trying not to be affected by her self-esteem due to the passing of her mother, she stuck through and achieved getting her degree and will thrive on becoming successful in life. Through her primary and secondary education, she now realizes what a big role in her career choices, views on marriage and gender roles, and sexuality says about who she is and what she believes and she will carry that awareness throughout her life.
(Bergin & Pakenham, 2015; Weiten, Dunn & Hammer, 2018; Molinaro, Fletcher & Bryden, 2017).
