Chapters 1-20

From what we have read so far, Ravi doesn't understand much in America. Joe wants to be friends with him, but he doesn't understand that. Mrs. Frost is trying to be nice to him also, but he doesn't notice that either. 5 words I would use to describe Ravi are 1) Shallow, 2) Braggart, 3) Sensitive, 4) Quick-Judger, and 5) Smart.
Joe, on the other hand, seems like to complete opposite of Ravi. He is usually 1) Quiet, 2) Softspoken, 3) Kind, 4) Helpful, 5) Forgetful. He tries to help Ravi when he is in trouble, and wants to be his friend. Unfortunately, Ravi doesn't understand this and has a meaningless grudge against him.
One example of the tension between them is when Joe tries to help Ravi, but accidentally bumps him, and when Dillon trips Ravi, but he thinks that Joe did it. Usually, Joe is not one to hold a grudge, but he seems really upset that there was a rare double blue M'nM in Mrs. Frost's candy bowl and he didn't find it. The two boys are complete opposites, and I predict that it will be a long time before they can learn to trust each other and actually become good friends.

Ravi is really mad that he has to go to Mrs. Frost room because he doesn't pronounce english words right.

Joe is actually nice to Ravi, but Ravi doesn't like Joe because he thinks that he tripped him.

Chapters 30-40

Ravi is being nicer to Joe, because he gave him his m-m because Dillon took his food. Ravi also doesn't really care about what people think about him. Like when he brought the leaches he didn't really care that people thought it was disgusting. Ravi probably doesn't care anymore because Dillon doesn't like him, so he doesn't care anymore.

Chapters 21-30

In these chapters, the problem develops as Ravi finally realizes that Dillon is actually not his friend. This is an example of an 'Aha Moment' because Ravi had the 'flash' and realized how it feels when someone teases you.

SMAS 30-40

Ravi notices that Dillon is a bully and now he is getting nicer because Joe gave Ravi a M&M and Ravi thinks that he should be nicer to Joe. Joe´s mom also is quitting her job because she does not want to follow what the cook book says.

Chapters 31-40

Ravi has changed a lot since the first chapters of Save Me a Seat. At first he was arrogant, mean, and proud of everything he did. Now he has realized that Joe could be his friend and that he might be nicer than he had thought. Ravi still calls Joe 'Bigfoot', but he is nicer to people around him.

Chapter 30-40

Ravi figured out that Dillon is a bully.This made Ravi notice that Dillon stole the mechanical pencils and he figured out that Dillon tripped him not Joe. Ravi is also being nicer to Joe because Joe gave him an m&m.

Chapters 40-49

In the beginning of the book Ravi was mean, and he would brag a lot because he wanted to impress Dillon.
