Through out "Hunt for The Wilderpeople" they incorporate the feeling of belonging, they do this by excepting Ricky, being there for him and making relationships with him.
Bella gives Ricky a hot water bottle so he's comfortable and feels loved, the water bottle symbolizes love, warmth and acceptance. Bella and Hec open their doors for him in a loving way, Ricky is hesitant at the start but he warms up to them. Bella takes care of Ricky in a way no one else did, they give him things he needs and wants like giving him Tupac.
