The quote that resonated with me from the CA MTSS was, “Supporting high-quality standards and research-based, culturally and linguistically relevant instruction with the belief that every student can learn including students of poverty, students with disabilities, English learners, and students from all ethnicities evident in the school and district cultures. “ This tells me CA expects teachers to take all students into consideration and provide not only an equal opportunity for every child but a quality education as well. CA MTSS envisions students growing academically no matter their level of education, economic background or ethnicity. I hope CA supports all districts as well with the resources available to offer all students equal opportunities no matter their economic status or schools test scores.

The quote from the document that resonated the most with me from CA MTSS was ‘systematically addressing support for all students, including gifted and high achievers.’ Module six places a heavy emphasis on how to support students with learning disabilities as well as English Learners and students who are in general underprivileged. Although I place a high priority on these students I also want to learn more about supporting those students who are gifted and underprivileged. I want to learn how the state of California systematically supports these students so they can continue expanding and building upon their education.
