It is called the Golden Age because Hollywood made enormous amounts of money, movie stars were born, and classic movies were made. Before the 20's, fashion and music were very dull with most outfits consisting of not showing skin in long skirts, long sleeves, hats, and tailored suits.Parties in the 1910's were also usually in ballrooms with classical music, but the 1920's changed everything. The Mafia had a big part in helping to create the new era with smuggling alcohol in during the prohibition, prostitution, and creating gangs and violence. Pop culture in the 20's was shown by things like flappers (which were young women who wore short skirts, bobbed hairstyles, and partied.), jazz music, movies, radio broadcast, and nightclubs.
