👉 Fake News Museum – Digital Exhibition by dilara soysal

🌍 Within the scope of the eTwinning “Think Before You Click!” project, students examine fake news examples from different countries in this digital exhibition.

👥 In each school, students work in groups to research fake news examples; the prepared products are uploaded to Padlet by one student selected on behalf of the group.

🎯 The aim of the activity is to improve students’ media literacy and critical thinking skills by analyzing real-life fake news examples.

🖼️ All student products are presented in a digital exhibition (Fake News Museum) format.

Although the post cited a BBC report, that report, based on the 2021 UN Food Waste Index Report, did not state Turkey was 3rd. The report only presented data for a selected 10 countries, which created a misleading impression. According to the UN Environment Programme’s official Food Waste Index Report, Turkey, with 93 kg of per capita food waste, ranks 60th among 215 countries, not 3rd. Various claims about baking soda (carbonate) are widely shared on social media.

❓ Why is this fake? The claim that soda water (bicarbonate water) cleanses the kidneys or purifies the body from toxins is FALSE. There is no scientific evidence to support this. Clinical studies show that sodium bicarbonate does not improve kidney function and may even lead to side effects. The human body’s pH balance is naturally maintained by the kidneys and lungs. There is no data indicating that alkaline water or carbonate drinks change this balance or contribute to overall health. Furthermore, studies show that soda water has no significant effect on bone density, as it does not contain minerals that support bone health.

🌐 CountryTurkey (The claim was circulated via a Turkish Facebook account)

🎭 Targeted EmotionCuriosity / Hope / Misinformation

🔗 Source (doğrulukpayi.com)

The argument that global warming is a hoax, that temperatures are not rising, and that the world has entered a cooling cycle since 2012, is not supported by scientific consensus. Various scientific studies confirm that global warming is real. If the current trend continues, the average global temperature is projected to rise by 2 degrees by the end of the century, leading to very serious global consequences. SARS-CoV-2 is a new and specific virus, and simply living with animals cannot grant protection against a new and specific virus.
