Chaim always knew how to write. He was an incredible writer and would sometimes teach people how to wright before the Holocaust happened. During the Holocaust he would also sometimes write for the people in the Ghetto he always snuck into.

Chaim's writing was not his only way of resistance. Chaim was also a leader of the underground resistance move. This would sneak people out of the ghettos and into homes.

Chaim was a famous writer for the Kovno ghetto. He would bring information in and out of the ghetto. He would also sometimes bring food in to the ghetto and try to save some people.

Chaim family had a lot to do with the holocaust. Chaim's father Esther Yell went into hiding for multiple years. He never got caught and was looked for by a lot of German soldiers. Chaim mom was also a writer and tried to help people in need.

Konvo Ghetto

The Kovno ghetto is the one Chaim snuck in and out of. It was a major ghetto in the holocaust. In 1939 approximately 40,000 Jews lived in Kovno. Kovno was liberated on 1 August 1944. Less than 2,000 Jews from Kovno survived the war.

Chaim was a big remembrance to the town of Konvo. He was recognized for the writing he wrote for the ghetto. He was also recognized for the amount of people he saved through out his time.

Chaim unfortunately did not make it out of the Holocaust. He was chased down by soldiers and was forced into a ghetto. He died due to starvation and was widely remembered as a Kovno ghetto resister.
