The sand collapsed downward and started flowing with the flow of water. My rocks fell and hit the bottom sort of moving with the water a little bit.

The water broke down the structure and made the river bigger. The rocks and sand were displaced by the water.

I lined rocks on the edge of my sand river bed and then poured water down it. All of the sand and rocks slid down the pile and made a pile at the bottom. This was erosion.

When the water was poured the sand moved with it. Erosion is movement and so the rocks and sand moved to the bottom of the tray.
