         <description><![CDATA[<div>There will be a variety of ways to disseminate the information for the small group audiences.<br><br><strong><mark>STUDENTS:</mark></strong><strong> </strong>Any information for students will be available for them to view and read on the school's student platforms. For students K-2 the platform is Seesaw and 3-5 students is Schoology.<br><br><strong><mark>PARENTS: </mark></strong>Information for parents will be sent on the school's platform to keep parents informed which is Schoolstatus. Through this platform, all information is sent including flyers and website links.<br><br><strong><mark>TEACHERS: </mark></strong>Information for teachers will be sent by school email.<br><br><strong><mark>ADMINISTRATORS: </mark></strong>Information for administrators will be sent by school email. <br><br><strong><mark>COMMUNITY: </mark></strong>Information for the community will be posted on the campus' website and post on the campus' Twitter and Facebook account.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Once the teachers refer student names, the school counselor will bring the group together for introductions and information about the group and to spark and gauge interest. During this informal gathering, counselor will visually observe participant interaction with each other.<br><br>The group will also be assessed individually through an online screening of questions asking about their readiness, willingness, and interest to participate. This assessment will be available to students through the student online platform readily available to them.<br><br>After individual data is gathered and interpreted, participants will screened as a group and be provided detailed information about the group, all expectations, and rules.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>STAGE 1:</mark></strong> At this stage, lots of team building needs to occur to begin to build trust with group members. The group norms will be established together and written on chart paper to be posted in the classroom for easy viewability to review at any time. Confidentiality will be addressed each time and participants will be reminded of the importance of honesty and trust amongst each other.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(Andres Hyman &amp; Bellamy, 2009)<br><br>During the first session going over&nbsp;</div><ul><li>confidentiality</li><li>the goals</li><li>purpose</li><li>discussing participation</li><li>policies</li><li>connection with peers</li><li>encouraging building sense of belonging</li><li>continued expectations of the group members</li><li>discussion of end date and visibly posting&nbsp;</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; (Missouri Professional School Counselors and Counselor Educators, 2015)&nbsp;</div><div><br><mark>STAGE 2:</mark> During this stage, the counselor continues to model and enforce all expectations while guiding students with the continued work on goals and expectations (Andres Hyman &amp; Bellamy, 2009).&nbsp;</div><div><br>The counselor must be on the lookout for any cues that show failure such as:</div><ul><li>sense of lethargy</li><li>verbal or non-verbal boredom&nbsp;</li><li>periods of silence</li><li>patterns of attendance or tardies</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(Andres Hyman &amp; Bellamy, 2009)<br><br>To alleviate these barriers, the counselor can implement:</div><ul><li>relaxation activities</li><li>role play</li><li>create support networks</li><li>activities to promote group's purpose</li><li>icebreakers</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(Andres Hyman &amp; Bellamy, 2009)</div><div><br><mark>STAGE 3: </mark>This being the last stage, it is imperative that the counselor continues:</div><ul><li>reviewing confidentiality</li><li>resist temptation to continue group</li><li>plan for post-group follow-up sessions</li><li>encourage accountability</li><li>plan saying good-bye</li></ul><div>(Missouri Professional School Counselors and Counselor Educators, 2015)</div><div><br>By the end of this stage, the counselor's responsible for:</div><ul><li>reducing reliance on group</li><li>identify resources for members</li><li>celebrate endings</li></ul><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(Andres Hyman &amp; Bellamy, 2009)<br><br>As the school counselor, the issue of confidentiality will be addressed with a constant reminder for group participants during each stage and during the follow-ups.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The leadership style that will be best for this group is the participative leadership (Cherry, 2023).&nbsp; The school counselor will be making the final decisions but will allow input from the group participants to make them feel connected and empowered.<br><br>This approach will work best with this population because no matter what they always provide good insight from their points of view that an adult may not notice. The group members will feel ownership over the group and will make them more comfortable to openly and actively participate.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The following standard states the school counselors' duties for meeting students' needs through small group counseling that includes small groups, parent consent, member selections, data, and techniques.<br><br>It states directly from the resource:<br>Standard II. Learner-Centered Skills: The certified school counselor must:&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;(3) counsel individuals and small groups using appropriate counseling theories and techniques in response to students' needs; &nbsp;<br>(4) consult with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and other individuals as appropriate to enhance his or her work with students;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;(5) coordinate resources, referrals, and follow-up procedures for students within the school and community;&nbsp; (6) demonstrate proficiency in teaching small and large groups by actively engaging students in the learning process; &nbsp;<br>(7) participate in the selection, use, and interpretation of assessments and assessment results; &nbsp;<br>(8) use multiple sets of information and data to make decisions about students, programs, and services; &nbsp;<br>(9) use counseling-related research techniques and evidence-based practices to address student needs;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;(19 Tex.
