My opinion and thoughts on ADHD

ADHD stands for Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is a learning disability that involves a lack in the brain’s management. It is not a behavioral issue and has nothing to do with the intelligence of the child. it has a wide range of characteristics that make up an ADHD affected brain. Some symptoms that could occur in the child is difficulty in school like not paying attention, not staying on task, not staying still, and distracting to themselves and other kids. This is a very common disorder of the brain that many children develop all over the world. I learned many interesting fact about this learning disorder and some things that surprised me about ADHD is that it does not develop in a child because of anything the parent did unless the mother or father has the disorder themselves. Most likely the child developed ADHD because of a relative if both of the parents did not have it. Something else that I learned that I thought was interesting is that ADD is a subtype of ADHD and not the other way around. They have many similarities but referring back to the name ADD children do not have signs of hyperactivity or impulsivity. In my personal opinion the treatment plan for ADHD children works greatly for what they need in a school and home environment. In one of my videos on my board called Education for children with ADHD it tells the story of a young girl named Lindsay and how the therapy she is attending for her ADHD impacts her in such a positive way that she is now succeeding in school and has a better attitude at home. Although this is only one of many stories to be told about a child in therapy and what they got out of it, I think this shows a good sign on how big the impact that therapy gives these children living with ADHD.
