         <description><![CDATA[<div>-The economic condition of France became poor due to the foreign wars of Louis XIV, the seven years War of Louis XV and other expensive wars. <br><br> -Turgot tried to minimise the expenditure of the royal court. He also advised the king to impose taxes on every classes of the society. <br><br>-The First Estate in France, or the clergy, owned <em>10% of the land</em> though it comprised less than 0.5% of the population. It was very wealthy and<em> paid no taxes</em>. It had many privileges, including the collection of <em>tithes</em>. <br><br> -One major economic problem the French government confronted was a crippling national debt. This was the result of massive spending on the administration of the royal bureaucracy, the financial burden of supporting the royal court at Versailles, and especially military spending, much of which had been expended on French participation in the American Revolutionary War. <br><br> -Causes of French Revolution: Political, Social and Economic Causes.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1) The French Monarchs had unlimited power and they declared themselves as the “Representative of God”.<br>2) The French Monarchs engaged themselves in luxurious and extravagance at the royal court of Versailles. They enjoyed unlimited power.<br>3) Louis XIV’s concept of unlimited royal power is revealed by his famous remarks, “I am the State”.<br>4) Louis XVI was an innocent and simple man. But he was influenced by his queen Marie Antoinette who always interfered in the state affairs.  She always felt proud as she was the daughter of Austrain Empress.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1)the king was with religion and by removing religion they took away the king.<br><br>2)As for religion, there were always two aspects, one ideological and one socio-economic, which are similar. The Enlightenment always claimed for a profound reform of the Church to avoid its power in culture.<br><br>3)When they decided to change certain policies, as was the case they decided to put new policies, this always helped the church since the Church did not pay taxes among many other things.<br><br>4)The Church entered into a very large conflict on issues of secular politics undertaken by the State and, especially since the Civil Constitution of the Clergy, which had made a deep division in the center of the Church.<br><br><br></div><div><mark>El Clero y la iglesia en la Revolucion.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1)On the morning of July 14, the revolutionaries approached the Bastille. They demanded that the military leader of the Bastille, Governor de Launay, surrender the prison and hand over the gunpowder. He refused.<br><br>1)Around 100 of the revolutionaries were killed during the fighting. After surrendering, Governor de Launay and three of his officers were killed by the crowd.<br><br>2)The guillotine came as an effective, fast and less painful way of execution, It was created as a humanitarian method for execution<br><br>2)The king was executed in a guillotine installed in the Place de la Concorde in Paris, in January 1793. 18th century.          <description><![CDATA[<div>* The French Society was divided into three classes: Clergy, Nobles and Common People.*<br><br></div><div>1) The Clergy was sub­divided into two groups. The higher clergy and the lower clergy. The higher clergy occupied the top position in the society. They managed the churches, monasteries and educational institutions of France. They did not pay any taxes to the monarch.<br><br>2) The Nobility was regarded as the Second Estate in the French Society. They also did not pay any tax to the king. The Nobility was also sub divided into two groups: The Court nobles and The Provincial nobles. The court nobles lived in pomp and luxury. They did not pay any heed towards the problems of the common people of their areas.<br><br></div><div>3) The provincial nobles paid their attention towards the problems of the people, but did not enjoy the same privileges as the others. The farmers, cobblers, sweepers and other lower classes belonged to this class. The condition of the farmers was very miserable.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
