Prospero and Miranda ended up on a magical island that once belonged to Sycorax the Algerian witch. She was a very wicked person who had bound Ariel, a magical spirit as a slave. The ship ends up splitting in half and everyone goes their separate ways into the water. Miranda saw the ship sink and asks her father if he created the storm. Prospero doesn't deny it. He assures his daughter that everyone from the ship is safe and that he only did it for her. Ariel who is invisible sings a tune so beautiful that Ferdinand quits mourning his father and followed the music. Ariel leads Ferdinand to Miranda. When the prince and princess look into each other's eyes, it's love at first sight. Ferdinand announces that he's the King of Naples (because he still thinks his father had died in the shipwreck). Prospero later  accuses Ferdinand of being a spy intending to steal the island. Gonzalo begins to talk of what he would do if he were king of the island. Antonio and Sebastian make snide comments and the King tells everyone to quiet down. Ariel plays a song, and everyone drifts off to sleep except for Sebastian and Antonio. Antonio and Sebastian agree they will keep watch over the King while he sleeps. Antonio suggests to Sebastian that they should kill the king to gain power. He states that it would be easy for them to kill the King while he sleeps. Both of them agree that if Antonio draws his sword to kill the King, Sebastian will draw on Gonzalo, and Sebastian's path to power will be clear. As the two lift their swords, Ariel whispers in Gonzalo's ear to quickly wake him up. Gonzalo then wakes the King, and everyone rises to see Sebastian and Antonio with their swords out. They claimed they heard the lions and only drew their swords to protect the King.
