Over time the wording that was used was no longer appropriate. It was not okay to say Blacks cocaine, or the police busted a Black kid. The media changed the wording to make it more appropriate. The media started using words like "poor" , "troubled", or "Ghetto". These terms all point at the black community.

I think it is interesting that the drug was thought to have stronger powers on people of color. I also think it is funny that they said cocaine made black people basically super humans. I think that the way these drugs are treated is not exactly right or fair.

I think that the penalty should not be as severe for the drugs. I think that we need to evaluate the people who are being arrested and why. Are they being arrested for their skin color and they meet the stereotype, or because there is a reason to be arresting them.

Why were they made so severe. and why have there been so many things left unsaid until recently. Why was the penalty so different for so long?
