He says, “Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,”. Whitman is talking about the foolish portions of mankind, the “foolish”. He questions what the good of people is. What’s the point of their existence? But then he answers his question. “That you are here-that life exists and identity/That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.” Waltman says that
humanity is good because it is here and alive. Each person has his or her own unique and
personal identity, and that’s enough. 

The movie, Dead Poets Society, follows a group of boys as they learn to think and learn
for themselves. Robin Williams plays a new poetry teacher at a preparatory school, who has an unusual way of teaching.
