Somewhat similarly, people now, specifically Gen Z, are becoming increasingly existential and nihilistic. An article from GNet, written by Daniel Siegel, posits that the rise of social media has only made this worse, as people are becoming increasingly aware of issues in the world such as inequality, genocides, climate change, etc. There is a general distrust in the government that hasn't been there in previous decades.

It's hard to say what popular philosophical beliefs will be held 100 years from now, but if the trend continues as it is, I believe egalitarianism(a belief that all people are equal, and deserve equality) will become even more popular, just as I think social Darwinism will continue to increase.

As the current system of capitalism prioritizes productivity and monetary wealth, and punishes those who are unable to meet those expectations(for example, the disabled or chronically ill), those that are raised under this system will inherit this same mindset.

Eventually, though, I do think egalitarianism will become the dominating belief, as the population of people who benefit from capitalism become smaller and smaller, more people will realize the faults in the system, and seek out change.
