We don't know what a teacher could be thinking, and if they were to suddenly snap, there'd be a huge problem. Not to mention it'd be worrisome for the student's family as well. I have two words " FOR WHAT".

If teachers want to carry a gun they need to be trained for what may happen cause I'm not dying cause a teacher wants to have a gun. Teachers need to teach, that's what they get paid for and that's what they went to school for. 

It would be interesting for schools to have metal detectors. I don't have an opinion about more police officers but I wouldn't mind only if they are good at their job.

Since the school has police officer in the school, if an intruder comes the police officer can do something or hold it down until back up comes. 

Secondly I personally do not feel comfortable with the teacher teaching me something and has a gun in his room, especially if the teacher gets mad.

Then since teachers signed up to teach I do not think they will be ready to handle that type of responsibility and because of that you might lose some teachers.

 Teachers do have classes that get out of control at times. One day a teacher might lose their temper and do something they will regret. Students being surrounded by guns everyday might influence them to have violent behaviors inside and outside of school.Me personally would not feel comfortable sitting in classes with loaded guns everyday.

                                                Should Teachers Be Armed With’ Guns? 

            The idea of arming teachers with guns can be a good and bad idea. Looking at it from the president’s perspective it is good but looking at it from the students and parent’s perspective it is indeed bad. I for one think it is a bad idea. 

            Firstly, I don’t like the idea because it can cause harm to the life of the students. For instance, a scenario whereby a teacher is a type of person who gets easily frustrated or angered it can lead to a very bad consequence. For example, if the students in that class annoy the teacher, the teacher may get so angry to a point that he may use the gun on the student. Not necessarily killing the student but the teacher can seriously injure the student. 

            Secondly, I think the idea is bad because if teachers start getting themselves armed with guns it will make the students scared, the students will not be able to approach the teacher especially if the teacher seems like someone who gets easily angry. So, if the teacher explains something and the student doesn’t understand the student will rather fail the subject than meet the teacher for further explanation. 

            Furthermore, I think it is a bad idea because even if there happens to be a shooting massacre, not everyone is capable of using a gun properly. If this happens and the teacher panics, he may mistakenly use the gun on one of the students instead. 

            Conclusively, instead of arming teachers with guns, I think more security should be provided at schools because that way teachers and students will have a good relationship and any type of shooting massacre would be avoided.

SHOULD TEACHERS BE ARMED WITH GUNS? 

    My name is Akinsanya Oluwafunmbi. The purpose of this essay is to oppose Donald Trump’s idea that teachers should be armed in schools. I believe that it would be a really bad idea and I will explain why in the subsequent paragraphs. 

    Firstly, I believe that not all people have the composure to handle a gun. A teacher’s job is to teach and that does not involve the use of a gun. Plus, it is a common occurrence in most schools for students to frustrate their class teachers and its most likely that they could frustrate the teacher down to the point where the teacher could pull out the gun or even shoot the student. 

    Also, there will be a massive drop in the grades of students because the students will be afraid to meet their teachers to explain what they do not understand, so in  the end instead of the knowledge and understanding of the students to increase they only suffer in silence as a result of fear. 

    Finally, In the case of an actual shooting the teacher might not get a clear shot and shoot one of the students or might even hurt himself  as a result of panicking.
