During my teaching I'm always tryng to envolve children in their own learning. Usualy I ask open questions and encourage them to think about what they are doing, about their feelings, friends and social around them.

In my opinion all the PYP frameworks promote transdiciplinary learning and teaching because they are all linked to create a better learner.

My school works with units and themes, so we can talk about different subjects throughtout those themes. For example: we learn about "Who am I" and we can count fingers, learn about different cultures, explore families, and so on.

Talking about theis travels, the places they have visited, their impressions, or dreams to know somewhere. Use their curiosities to talk about maps, food, dressing, local animals, traditions.
I think we must give them the opportunity to show their thoughts and oppinions, give them voice and arguments.
Ask the children to pay attention to what is around them, to look in their neighborhood how to behave and take care of the playground, to memorize their address and phone number.

When we set learning areas in the classroom based on the children's interests but also considering goals they need to achieve and the skills they need to develop, we can set free times for them to choose their areas of interest to work on what they want and need, letting them to have voice and choice. From that, we can learn a lot about our students, their interests, their way of learning, their strengths and habilities that need to be more developed. This also helps them to take action in response to their learning.
