I included four entries from her diary. The first one talks about her first time ever listening to Dr. King speak and how moved she felt afterward. The second entry talks about the first time she is thrown in jail, how she feels, and how she is treated while she is in there. The third one talks about how she has been missing school because of the different marches. It also talks about Jimmie Lee Jackson and how the police killed him during a peaceful protest. The finally entry I included was when Lynda, Dr. King, his wife, and thousands of others were beginning their March to Montgomery. This successfully demonstrates historical empathy because it talks about how Lynda was feeling during this time and gives insight on understanding how she, and other African Americans felt.
