Site preparation and foundation work include the team clearing the home site of rocks, rubbish, and trees with a backhoe and a bulldozer and, if necessary, digs for the septic system. 

The temporary foundation is built using wooden forms installed by the builder. 
The team levels the ground, constructs wooden forms to act as a foundation pattern, and drills the holes and trenches. 

Footings have been fitted; the  ground support structure that keeps the house from sinking.  The footings are dug, shaped, and poured, the area between them is levelled and fitted with utility lines (e.g., plumbing drains and electrical chases); and the slab is poured. Once the concrete has been poured into the holes and trenches, it must cure. There will be no activity on the construction site during this time.

Following the curing of the concrete, the team instals a waterproofing membrane to the foundation walls. Drains, the sewer system, water taps, and any plumbing that has to go into the slab.  

When the curing process is finished, a city inspector visits the site to ensure that the foundation components are up to code and correctly placed, then the framing process will commence.

Exterior walls are sheathed and wrapped in protective wrap. The outside walls and roof are sheathed with gib board, and the windows and exterior doors are installed. The sheathing is subsequently wrapped with a protective layer known as house wrap, which keeps water out while allowing water vapour to escape. This lessens the possibility of mould and wood damage.

After the shell has been completed, siding and roofing may be placed. The electrical and plumbing contractors begin putting pipes and cables through the inside walls, ceilings, and floors at the same time. Sewer lines and vents are installed, as well as water supply lines for each fixture. Bathtubs and one-piece shower/tub sets are installed now since there is greater room to move huge, heavy goods. 

Ductwork is installed for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system.  Insulation is put in the floors, walls, and ceilings, and HVAC vent pipes are inserted through the roof. 

The home is called "dried in" when the roofing is installed. After that, an electrician instals sockets for outlets, lights, and switches, as well as wiring from the breaker panel to each socket. This job includes wiring for telephones, cable TV, and music systems. Because it is easier to run wires around pipes and ducts than vice versa, HVAC ducts and plumbing are frequently built before wiring.

Building regulations are checked on rough framing, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. These will most likely be three separate examinations. At the very least, the frame inspection will be performed independently of the electrical and mechanical inspections. Drywall (also known as plasterboard) is supplied to the construction site at this point.
