         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fort Sumter was a Union base in the South. Lincoln had difficulty regarding on what to do with the fort. He ended up choosing not to abandon it nor reinforce it. In response to Lincolns move, Jefferson Davis chose to turn the peaceful secession into war. After its fall, it signals the start of the Civil War.</div>]]></description>

A popular book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" increased abolitionists protests while southerners criticized this book to be an attack on the South as a whole.</div>]]></description>
