https://fcit.usf.edu/matrix/matrix/ This resource is created by the University of South Florida and assists teachers, coaches, and administrators with determining levels of technology integration. It’s a helpful resource because it features Florida classrooms and shows a variety of ways to integrate technology. It can be used by teachers who are familiar with integration technology and those who are new to the process. Each cell within the matrix focuses on the level of technology integration and the learning environment. It also includes a sample lesson and video of the lesson being implemented with real students and teachers. Want to learn more?

We currently have a subscription to NearPod. Teachers can use Nearpod effectively in the classroom to support student learning in a variety of ways. As an assessment tool, Nearpod provides immediate feedback and opportunities for re-teaching. When students receive quiz scores, they can ask questions to clarify errors in their understanding of the content instead of waiting until a paper copy is handed back a week later. As a presentation tool, students move through content at their own pace which allows for differentiation. Teachers may also choose to provide students with different presentations to further individualize instruction. As an interactive tool, students complete polls and results are immediate for classroom discussion. As a homework tool, students access the assignment outside of the classroom on their own device using the free app or on the website. They respond to open-ended questions that the teacher can review online and use to prepare follow-up lessons based on areas of need. And finally, as an instructional tool, teachers can project student work to the class to discuss, review, or evaluate individual responses. Click on this link to view a free Management and Mobility NearPod lesson (https://nearpod.com/s/general/9th-grade/management-and-mobility-L32698486). Another free link is a link to the NearPod SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) model. This lesson explains how NearPod follows the SAMR model. https://nearpod.com/s/general/other/samr-redefinition-L1496141

All Title 1 elementary schools (grades 3-5) must implement SuccessMaker daily in their classroom. SuccessMaker is an adaptive and prescriptive scheduling intervention program delivering both reading and math curriculum. Stealth formative assessments adjust instruction with every click, swipe, and student response. There’s less frustration and stress for learners. Individual learner paths guide the student to targeted performance goals. Prescriptive scheduling tells you when students will reach key milestones, and dynamic reporting provides data to intervene when it matters most. To view brief student and teacher tutorials go to the Volusia Title 1 Weebly site at http://vcssuccessmaker.weebly.com/ .

Classroom Dojo offers a system where students’ behavior can be monitored throughout the day. Teachers can use an ipad, Smartphone, or computer and continuously adjust a student’s behavior points. If someone is off task, the teacher can take points away. If they begin to focus, they get points and move up. By the end of the day you have a measure of how good (or bad) the student’s behavior was. The students’ points can be projected onto an interactive whiteboard, so students can actually see how they are being rated – judged – at any given time. And all the other students can see everyone as well. This information is shared live with the students’ parents. The teacher can set up the positive and negative behaviors they want emphasized in the classroom or they can use the ones ClassDojo offers. There is also a messaging feature. This allows the parents and teacher to communicate privately, but effectively. Through Class Story the teacher can take pictures and video snippets to share with the parents (either as a group or just one parent). To learn more about Classdojo goto https://www.classdojo.com/#LearnMore. It is a short video showing how ClassDojo can be used.
