However he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Russel stated he was not connected to the R Kelly case, and was said to be in the midst of a plea deal with the governmnet, rather than going to a trail. Although the plea deal was in progress new information was allowed to come in and affect the outcome. The case is still ongoing and it is undecided wether or not Donnell Russel will aceept it, or go to a trial.
