When I thought of the word author previously I visualized a person sitting down dedicated to writing a book or story of some sort. After reading Everyone's an Author it has expanded my mind a bit. I would have never placed myself in the category of being an Author before reading this but now I do. Something as small as posting things on social media or writing an essay would be in the Author catagory.

I want to be able to write and speak what I write in front of an audience. I feel I can write well but I know there is always room for improvement. I want to learn more extravagant words to make my writing stand out more and catch the attention of a more broad audience.

I feel like I have so much baggage. Single mother of 4, working full time, lesbian... There's so much to unpack in just that little snippet about me. I used to feel that I wasted time in relationships, in my career, in life period just not taking life as serious as I should have. now at 33 im waking up more and more each day loving life and wanting to make the most of life.

Reading this passage by Larry Lehna brought so many memories to surface. My father, even though I love him dearly and have learned so many things from him, was very abusive. The abuse came in all ways possible mentally, physically, and emotionally for at least 5 years up until I moved to Texas with my mom and sisters at the age of 11.

Sometimes it can be hard to mask the things you've been through especially if something triggers it to come out in that moment.
