Then, he realized it had melted in his jacket pocket. He demonstrates curiosity through spends the day wandering around exploring the sounds, sights, and feeling of snow.
Optimistic: Peter is also a very optimistic character. I believe he is  because even though his snowball melted when he brought it inside, he was hopeful that the following day would bring more snow.
Innocent- Peter represents a little boy who lives to see the snow. He is amazed by the sight of snow and shows so much emotion. Peter is a young innocent character who students may be able to connect too. He loves the sight of snow and finds all the joys it brings through playing outside.
They also might be able to connect to the setting since my students are from CT and are very familiar with snow.
There are also opportunities to connect to the emotions of the character as events change. The way he refers to them lets readers know that he looks up to them and considers himself, little. He plays with sticks and makes footprints but implies he can't wait to be apart of their games.
Vigorous- The big boys can be characterized as vigorous because they play rough. They are pictured throwing snowballs, big and fast. One even hits Peter, they do not stop and care enough to ask if he is ok. Their outfits are bold colors compared to Peter's plain red snowsuit.
