-In the movie brave, Merida is free-spirted, bold, strong willed, and we can see this when she is faced to chose a suitor to marry, but rather picks herself and goes on her own journey in life, disappointing her family since she is independent.
-"...you shall be sure to be misunderstood. Misunderstood! It is a right fool's word. Is it so bad then to be misunderstood?" This quote represents the relationship between Merida and her family, because they don't understand her, and her lack to please others.

He also goes against social norms, and is proud of who he is as a person, instead of pleasing others.
