On making mistakes - week 1

Meenu said something that I have been thinking about the entire week. "If you're not making mistakes, you're not pushing the envelope enough."
I absolutely loved that and really needed to hear it. The class during the first week was amazing, I have never wanted a class to keep going....EVER - especially on a Friday afternoon. However being in that room with teachers who wanted us to be ourselves and to try new things and think outside the box was so different and I think my brain had been craving this kind of change.
Im not the greatest fan of my major, and I'm forever stuck in the limbo of "am I doing this because I want to, or because everyone else wants me to?" and this class really made me miss my creative side and how I used to want to be and architect and design things for a living. I feel so good about my choice in taking this course and am really looking forward to the next fifteen weeks.
(:

OOPS? - week 4

In all honesty I was not sure if we were supposed to post a personal padlet post every week so thats why I have missed the last 2 posts even though I would have definitely had a lot to say. (Ta daaa) Better late than never though right?
This week a quote I wrote down that someone said in class was "human beings are the experts of their own lives".
I think I wrote that down mostly because its so simple and we tend to forget sometimes that we know ourself and what we need/want more than anyone else.
A lot of times theres unsolicited advice that is taken because it seems right even though the advice is not particularly tailored to your problem and although it might benefit someone else - you might not get the same results. Which can often times lead to feelings of failure and just not being good enough. So it was a nice reminder that yeah - I am the expert on me. Everything that I put out there personality wise is curated for an audience and is never completely who I am.

I also wrote down "stars in sky to constellation movement" which was an analogy I loved. I love starting at stars and I have those glow in the dark star stickers on my ceiling above my bed and sometimes its just nice to look up at them.
