My name is Barbara I live in Albury on the NSW/Vic border,

Well, end of life and palliative care is certainly an interesting topic. I never thought I would be writing about this. It is a far cry from my usual writings in business, accounting and finance. Although my most recent adventure within NSW Health was a lot closer to the mark. Although mainly administrative, I certainly saw a lot of activity from John Hunter in Newcastle, Maitland, Junee, , Cootamundra, Wagga Wagga and Albury. I undertook a course a short time back Assistant in Nursing in aged care. I attended the Australian Catholic University for two years studying Pastoral Studies. I finished my studies and obtained my Bachelor of Business. Outside of work and studies I enjoy golf, bowls, tennis and football. The wild days on the hockey field and squash court are long gone. I also enjoy music and dancing
I have four children , Three are married, they have all left the nest and living in different areas of the country and overseas. This gives me the opportunity to travel, visit new places and see new faces. I now dedicate my wings to doing new things. I have always been interested in the social sciences, in pastoral studies and now Gerontology.
By completing this subject I am one step closer to obtaining my Masters Degree. I then hope that I am able to utilise all my new knowledge and use it in making the lives of others, more enjoyable, happy and worthwhile.
I hope I get the opportunity to meet up with some of my colleagues somewhere soon.
I take this opportunity to wish you all the best in your studies and any future endeavours.

Cheers Barbara
