         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hands down culture... Use students to choose the next student to answer - keeps everyone alert and allows students to ensure no one is left out ("who hasn't answered yet?").  This  can also build confidence - who do you think can answer that?</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<P>"Hide" questions around the classroom for students to find e.g.&nbsp;use the seating plan to differentiate and put questions under chairs or desks. Students can 'phone a friend' for support, and can either ask a follow-up question to the person of their choice, or simply pick another student to answer their own "hidden question".</P>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>"Keepy-Uppy Questioning"!</p><p>Ask question - straight over to next pupil - "What do you think of that?" - straight over to another pupil - "What can you add to that?" - straight over to another pupil - "How can you improve that suggestion further?" - straight over to another pupil - "What did he/she just say?" Etc., etc.</p><p>Resist the temptation to restate everything the pupils say. "Keepy-Uppy Questioning" trains pupils to listen to EACH OTHER and not just tune back in when the teacher talks! </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Get GCSE and A' Level students to "chunk" their essay questions so that they realise how every word matters and in particular little words like "main" function of or "the" view as it must belong to someone! It supports their progress to the top grades.&nbsp;<br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Why not have a question wall in cyberspace or in your classroom for students to add their questions to....or a question box.....or take in questions in one lesson as part of a plenary triangle and build a Philosophy for Children Lesson around them next time......or an investigative lesson built around their questions which works well at all levels including A' Level......it encourages students' curiosity which fuels student-centred learning.....the result.... outstanding progress!&nbsp;<br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Put the class into small groups and give them each a different question written on a large piece of paper. Tell them that they have 3 minutes to write down as much information that they can to answer the question.&nbsp;Move the questions round and give the same amount of time. You can then introduce using the books to get all the info down.&nbsp; The group write the full answer to the question only using the notes not the book. TIme limits are key to this.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Get students to lead key parts of the Q and A. One student replaces you as teacher (pick a bright or very talkative student at first) and leads the questioning. Extending this further, students have 2-3 minutes to lead the questioning or can lead it for 5 questions before handing over to another student.</p>]]></description>
