In many cases, it is because they suffer from poverty. Poverty related difficulties such as unemployment and illness double the rate of not attending school.  Another big reason children are not attending school is because there is a lack of trained teachers. Females make up over 54 percent of the non schooled population. The reason they don't go to school is because, in developing countries, the males are the ones who go to school for an education while the females work. Also. people in general who live in sub Saharan Africa are affected by no access to an education. There are 32 million kids living in Sub Saharan Africa that are of school age but don't attend school. There are also schooling issues with places that are in conflict.
