This picture was taken on my first day back at school after summer vacation. Even though we go through our ups and down, I love my friends. Most of us are pretty anxious and stressed out about the academic portion of school but we help each other get through it. I have always wondered what it would be like to go to a same-sex school but I think a lot of times the boys balance out the drama that comes up among us girls.

All Girls Schools

There is definitely something to be said about the benefits of single gender education (particularly in girls' cases). However, as a nonbinary individual I found that all girls schools can sometimes be limiting and even oppressing. This is just my experience - many other single gender schools can be accepting, but unfortunately that wasn't my experience.
I found this project really interesting, though! I think the topic of single gender vs co-ed schools is really important, and your page did a great job of looking into it!

I always have appreciated a CO-ED environment. Boys and Girls are different but the world is made up of multiple genders so it's better to teach this is school than wait until the real world. There is never just single sex so why separate? I think it teaches tolerance and understanding. Boys are more likely to view women as equals when they grow up together. I think there are more societal harms of gender segregate even if the way in which we learn would present some benefits. Great analysis! Here is a photo from my school. We mix, mingle and talk amongst boys and girls. Creates more opportunities and a greater overall social experience.

I went to a Co-ed elementary school (up until 6th grade) and I remember how many guys and girls I was friends with. In middle school, I moved to the US and went to an all girls school up until 9th grade year. Now I am back in a co-ed school (in 11th grade). I can definitely speak to pros and cons of both but I feel like I've been able to gage the world in a different way when there are mixed genders in the classroom. There are so many things I learned from learning amongst guys because there is always a new perspective and opinion to be heard. Loved the project Rio!
