What is a run-on sentence?
°A run-on sentence is a two-part sentence that is made by indenpendent clause that are smooshed together with unproperly connection (punctuation).
Example: Maya is pretty Patrick is in love with her.
- Corrections
1. Maya is pretty; Patrick is in love with her. (semi-colon)
2. Maya is pretty. Patrick is in love with her. (period)
3. Maya is pretty, so Patrick is in love with her. ( connective conjuction + comma)

BE CAREFUL WITH COMMA SPLICES !
A comma splice is a common punctuation mistake that happens when we try to connect 2 independent clauses by incorrectly using commas.
Example: <del>We like chocolate cake</del><del>, </del><del>chocolate cake is the best.</del> (NO!)
- Corrections:
1.We like chocolate cake; chocolate cake is the best.
2. We like chocolate. Chocolate cake is the best.

*NOTE: we may use a comma to connect 2 independent clauses JUST IN CASE we use a connective conjuction (FANBOYS)*

Example: We like chocolate cake, but it's not the best flavour.
