Living Environment

My childhood and even now I live in small town. With living in a small town a few things I know: 1 everyone knows everyone and 2 community building. There is support within a small town. I have experienced the worse side of it living that has now wanted me to stand up for people that have been bullied or are without a lot of things. I have also educated people about addiction that don't understand certain things.

The wrong path

I was raised around addiction and then fell into it myself. I thought I would die doing the things that I did and was doing. I fell into addiction for 18 years. Within these years I did get married and had 2 boys.

The brighter path

Soon enough I ended up going and getting the help that I needed even when I didn't know I needed it. I had to change everything I use to do, who I was around, and what I knew. I am now over 8 and half years clean and I have a life that I never knew I could have.

Both my children and my husband are my huge support system in everything. My husband is my saving grace that has helped me get the help that I needed 8 and half years ago and our story together is one that isn't pretty but, we both wouldn't change. My children and I have such a great relationship, and they love what I do for a living and support me in my path going back to school. I am so grateful that I can walk with these 3 men in my life.

Relationship with Jesus

I was not raised in the church but, ever since I got in recovery I have had a relationship with Jesus. All that I am today is his glory. The footprints is something that holds dear to my heart. Jesus carried me when I didn't know he was. There was a bookmark made for me with this on it when my brother passed of a overdose. So this has 2 meanings for me.
