However, we do (unfortunately) share the Homeric and Anglo-Saxon values of physical desirability and fame, respectively.  As an individual of a counter-culture, my personal heroes include musicians, philosophers, and environmental activists, such as Gillian Welch, Eckhart Tolle, and Joel Salatin. As a society, we value someone who is willing to help others, or at least speak out in order to shed some light onto bad situations. Someone I admire would be Tyler Joseph. Other heroes speak out for those who can't. Mental health is very important, and we all need someone to talk to. As a society, we value conversations and the ability to talk and listen. We also value our mental health and should try to take care of it.
