John Green gives us the idea that nothing lasts forever. During the whole book, we see Aza's endless and depressive thoughts that she won't achieve anything in life. She thought that if she had mental illness, she will stay at home with her mom forever and won't get into college. But as the book ends, John Green intrigues us by giving insight into Aza's future life "you don't know that you'd go to college, find a job, make a life, see it unbuilt and rebuilt." Therefore, we see Aza off to her new life. If you have one bad day, it doesn't mean your whole life will be as bad.

Florence and the Machine's top song is called "Dog Days Are Over". The first stanza in the song is "Happiness, hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink" which means that no matter how hard you try to avoid it, happiness will still find you. Even as Aza in the book thought "I would always be like this, always have this within me. There was no beating it." Even if you feel like there is no way out, you will be happy at some point in your life no matter what.

There is repetition in the song: "So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost". Basically, the character knows that the bad days won't last forever and he waits the day when everything will be alright.

Last year was really tough for me. I thought that these feelings and thoughts will never end. At some point I even stopped eating for several month and lost a lot of weight and sense of reality. I just wanted it to end and be happy as I once used to be. But as the time goes, I start to see myself worth again. It was just a bad year, not a bad life. As Dr. Singh said in the book to Aza, "Thoughts are only thoughts. They are not you."

There is a belief that time heals everything. The theme in the Turtles All The Way Down and this belief go together hand in hand. "I know that girl would go on, that she would grow up, have children and love them . . ." This quote from Turtles All The Way Down shows us that as time passes by, all the problems you ever had won't last forever. May be these problems won't go, but you will start to get used to live with them eventually. As Dr. Singh said in book, "Thought are only thoughts. They are not you."
