 Q1.  What is rounding? Rounding means to bring a number to it's nearest tens, hundreds or thousands. You can either round up or down. Round up when the number is 1,2,3,4 and round down when the number is 5,6,7,8,9.
 Example: Round off 42  to the nearest ten. The answer is 40 as 42 is closer to 40 than to 50.

Q2.  What is estimation? Estimation means to predict the answer to a question. You can also use it to check the answer for a question. 
Example: Round  off 57 and 31 to the nearest tens.Then estimate the sum of the two numbers. The answer is 90. First round off 57 and 31, you should get 60 & 30. Add the two numbers and you will get 90.  

Q3. Why are we learning rounding and estimation?
 I think we are learning rounding and estimating so that we can understand the problem better and apply it in our daily lives.
