During an interview, the company or job site will run a background check on the applicant, which includes past SNS posts or other activity on the internet that the applicant had been involved in.  That information may determine whether or not the applicant will be accepted or declined.

When you post information on the internet it could not be safe and could be very dangerous. Posting your personal information online can lead to getting harassed or even being bullied. These effects of giving out your personal information can cause you to be always filled with anxiety. Other possible effects of posting information online is identity theft. Identity theft is when someone takes your identity and pretends that they are you. This can set you a bad reputation and lead to lots of trouble. Never send your information online.

People on the internet should be more cautious on what they say and do because you never know who is watching.]]> 2020-06-16 23:26:22 UTC https://padlet.com/schofield2/qxziq7wq9l1raq9c/wish/629698403 Aryana Garcia 1036557 https://padlet.com/schofield2/qxziq7wq9l1raq9c/wish/630033663 Posting anything on the internet is virtually permanent and will stay.  Trying to delete or edit content is generally shown still in the end, and people can still screenshot or record and hold it against you.  Because of this, future employers, relationships, and connections may always be able to see what you have done, be it harmless or offensive.  Given that employers may be able to see harmful content or quotes you may have posted at one point, they then have the option to bring it up to you or hold it against you and suspend your activity or fire you right there.  Currently, there have been cases of colleges being contacted regarding their students posting racist and/or offensive material due to everything going on in the world, and ending with colleges dropping the student or other consequences.  Anything online will stay online one way or another, so people should keep in mind that whatever they choose to show or say online, may come back and hurt them in the long run.
