I feel like the title "The crossover" has 2 meaning because on is about a basketball move and the other one is about crossing from one side to the other.

1.crossover is a basketball move and the story crossover is mostly about Josh, JB, and dad and their connection with basketball, and this specific move Josh tried to attempt when he was playing with dad, but he couldn't do it so dad had taken the ball and tried to dunk, but dad couldn't and he passed out. Which is why Josh blames himself for his dad getting a heart attack and dying, which is also why he promised his dad that he was going to perfect it and he did and won the championship.

2.The crossover is also when known for when someone dies they go from being on earth to being dead and being in their world. So when dad died that was basically where he went.
