The spider feeds on living things like grasshoppers. Spiders are key predators of other invertebrates, especially insects. They also serve as important prey for many birds, lizards, and other animals. For example, the loss of several native birds species on Guam has led to a measurable increase in spider abundance. They feed on insects such as ants, flies, mosquitoes, and bees, some spiders will also eat very small animals like birds, frogs, lizards, and centipedes. Many will also eat other spiders!

• Oxygen Availability: The waterlogged soils in mangrove swamps often have low oxygen levels. Mangrove trees have specialized roots, like pneumatophores, that extend above the water to absorb oxygen from the air.

• Water Temperature: Water in mangrove swamps is typically warm, ranging between 20°C and 30°C (68°F to 86°F), which supports the growth of mangrove plants and the marine life that depend on the ecosystem.

Without oxygen, plants and animals cannot survive. Without carbon dioxide, plants cannot make food and will die too. If plants die, animals will also be affected

Pollinators such as bees butterflys play a crucial part in plant reproduction. Beneficial insects such as ladybugs, lacewings help control pest populations.

Due to water lily popularity groups exist such as the International Water Lily & Water Garden Society, which has been holding water lily competitions for decades. The next IWGS water lily competition is scheduled at their annual symposium this year at Naples Botanical Gardens with over 40 hybridizers from nearly a dozen countries expected to show hundreds of varieties. An award at the IWGS competition suggests great value for the new water lily cultivar.Although water lilies contain a toxic alkaloid, as do elephant ears, it is neutralized when boiled. WATER LILYS ARE BEAUTIFUL!
