Hello, My name is Jazmyn Davis. I earned my bachelors degree at Norfolk State University in College in Liberal Arts of Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. Class of 2020. My masters program is Rehabilitation Counseling, in my third year.

I currently work for the government as a correctional officer, I have been employed for about a year. Prior to this role, I worked at SECEP (Southern Cooperative Education Program) as a teacher assistant for two years. During that time, I gained valuable experience working with children with autism, which not only brought me joy but also allowed me to be better understand the different aspects of the spectrum. I had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, from elementary through high school.

Although transitioning from education to correction is a big change, I believe my experiences have given me unique skills that I can combine and apply in my current career. My goal after graduation is to continue advancing in my role as a correctional officer, work toward higher ranking positions, and eventually return to school to pursue a degree in Criminal justice. In doing so, I hope to integrate my interests in law, rehabilitation, and graphic design to work effectively with a variety of individuals.

I was born in Norfolk and raised in Virginia Beach area. Went to public schools and graduated in 2016. I had early acceptance to Norfolk State University, graduated in 2020. I took a year off, trying to figure what am I going to do next. I decided to go back to school for something different and picked Rehabilitation Counseling.
