In the story: "The Castle of Faithful Wives", A clumsy duke, accidentally bumped into the queen Uta, and has been sentenced to death. the duke fled, and wouldn't leave although the king had people guarding the door, but the duke wouldn't leave. The king found the passages, and blocked them, so if he didn't surrender everyone there would die. The queen said to the king, let the women, and some other things. The king said yes, and the queen had an idea. If the women carried the men on their backs, the men wouldn't die, so that's what they did. This shows the queen is smart, and can think fast, but the king can be mean, and wanted to kill the clumsy duke.

                made by: Logan Anderson

In the folk tale, "The Castle of Faithful Wives" Lady Uta's problem solving skills helped save the duke and all the men in the castle. My evidence is that in paragraph 2, it states that Lady Uta out-smarts the king. She does this by asking if whatever the people of the castle can carry on their backs, they can take out of the castle. So all the women who worked in the castle and Lady Uta carried the men on their backs, no matter how heavy they were. She was determined to get the children and the men out of the castle unharmed. This shows that Lady Uta's problem solving saved her and everyone else in the castle. By: Levi Carey

after reading ''The Castle of Faithful Wives'' I know that Lady Uta actions change the story because when Lady she heard about the king coming to the town she knew she needed to save the town.I know this because in the text it says "Lady Uta sent a note to the king. The note said ''Your Majesty, as you are going to spear lives of the woman and children of this castle, we ask you allow us to leave at daybreak, with only our children and whatever we can carry on our backs''.This leads me to the concluded Lady ulta cares about her town and people. -Olivia R

In the story, The Castle and the Faithful wives Lady Uta's actions showed her problem- solving skills because she figured out a plan to escape the castle and she would outsmart the king. The king was guarding the castle for weeks. She would write a note asking the king not to harm them. Based on the fact, This will allow the woman, children to leave the castle. In the text, the author said " At first, the king was angry, but then he was touched by such a plan a risk the woman dared to take to save the men. The king let him live." In addition, the king blocked all the secret pathways so the women and the children could starve and die. They had to get out of the castle fast and easily without the kings suspicion note to get them out of there for food and water. In conclusion, Lady Uta's problem-solving skills helped get them out of the castle without the king noticing.
