Write up a short synopsis of a news story. Place students in pairs and assign one to be the scribe and one to be the reader. The reader reads the news story at the news STATION ( desk for this purpose) and reports back to the student who must write down what the student shares. 

Excellent for students to learn how to capture the gist of a story and to re-tell in their own words .
