Nutrition also plays a big part in a teen’s health (2). Many teens focus on eating sugary foods that only sustain the manatee for a short amount of time, however they should be eating healthier meals. If a teen eats right, they may go on to have a better life and have less health problems.

Screen time is a large problem in teens, both mentally and physically. Being on social media makes a teen more anxious, depressed, and have a negative image of themselves (3). Looking at a screen for a long period of time may also prevent a teen from getting proper exercise, and leads to obesity.

One way you can help another person make positive health decisions is by showing them the long-term side-effects of making the unhealthy decision. You can also pull in personal experience of your health decisions to influence that person into improving their health. My friend had a very poor and unhealthy diet, and it wasn’t until I had him try some healthier food and gave him facts on how nutrition can affect someone that he finally agreed to start eating healthier. Now he has a great diet and is feeling a lot better!
