Fire stations give free tours to classrooms, and many fire trucks will come to park in a school parking lot for little ones to come observe. For this activity, the teacher would provide the children with mini plastic firefighter helmets to wear. We would sing the song "Here comes the firetruck" by Super Simple Songs in order to acquaint the children with the ideas surrounding firefighters. Then we would all go out and look at/touch the firetruck. The main purpose of this activity is to instill wonder in the young children.
