         <title>In one subheading, the article makes reference to &quot;When Labels don&#39;t fit&quot;, this made me connect to the idea of what defines individuals &quot;beyond chromosomes, anatomy and hormones, psychology and culture.&quot;  As stated in the article, it&#39;s important to understand how gender expression is different from gender identity.  It was interesting to learn about regions around the world who readily incorporate a third gender and I think this simple addition would make life a little easier for those struggling with both identity and acceptance.  </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>When we learn how genes and chromosones determine gender, it seems straightforward, but according to this article, it isn't! There are many ways the "typical" gender differentiation could be affected, for example if the SRY gene is missing, or if the embryo has complete androgen<br>insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) and doesn't respond to male hormones in the womb. I wonder of there are even more possibilities that the article doesn't mention. I also wonder if scientists see these just as problems to be fixed.</strong></div>]]></description>
