Then rock/paper/scissors to see who rotates clockwise. ]]> 2021-01-18 17:02:25 UTC https://padlet.com/aprilkelley/qx24881pssnjrmgg/wish/1098576414 The Burn Game https://padlet.com/aprilkelley/qx24881pssnjrmgg/wish/1098578883 I am teaching middle school math for lower students with Saxon and so what I do sometimes is I will take the 30 questions and make it a competition.  I pair them off and then tell them the group who gets the most correct before the end of the period wins.  The key is that I give them 3 "burns" if over half of the class thinks the question is too tough, I will stop and do the problem on the board with everybody.  What tends to happen is that a number will get shouted and a couple kids will go, "No, no that's easy."  And I will say, "If you don't want it burned, you should explain it to them."  It works with classes that like to talk.

The teacher creates a specific number of questions and gives each student a post it note for each question. Teacher writes each question, one at a time, on large poster paper and students write their answer to each question on their post it note. Students place their post its on each of the large papers. Then teacher places students into groups and gives each group one of the poster papers. The groups are to go through each of the notes on the poster and take off incorrect answers. All correct post it notes then go back to the original owners.
